momstown Niagara Wine Tasting and Tour Sponsored by PenFinancial

With all the decisions to be made and questions to be asked about our personal finances, it was wonderful for someone to ask us what we want and what we are looking for.  Thanks to PenFinancial for being the ones to ask and let us have a say in what would be the most beneficial to our young families.

Yesterday momstown Niagara mamas got together for an information gathering workshop with the team at PenFinancial.  PenFinancial is a legacy of community-based credit unions that had similar cultures and ideals and decided to join together to establish a secure foundation for its members.  Now over 15,000 members strong and their roots are firmly planted in Niagara soil. They are a homegrown organization that takes pride in providing their members with exceptional rates on banking products and services that they need for every stage of life, with the unsurpassed personal, value added service that they deserve.

PenFinancial is always looking for new ways to help their members get the products and service they need.  Being a part of a growing family can lead to many questions about how to plan for long term financial comfort that is affordable today.  With the help of momstown Niagara mamas, and Dianne and Phil of  Chimpanzee,  they hope to pull all of the information together and come up with a strategy and some tactics that they hope will help these young families with their life financial goals.  They are looking to find the right plan with service that can meet the needs of families with small children.

Some of the biggest problems young families are facing are things like timing - bank hours are definitely not parent hours!  And, some of us are not even sure what we should be asking.

PenFinancial listened whole-heartedly to the questions being asked and are working on developing a program specifically designed to benefit families like ours.  I look forward to seeing what they will put together for us!

As a thank you to the mamas who took the time to come out and get involved, we left with fantastic swag bags and raffle prizes and had a lovely tour and tasting at the beautiful Chateau des Charmes winery courtesy of PenFinancial.   Natalie took us on a tour through the grapevines and then through the barrel cellars where all the magic happens!  One of the large stainless steel tanks is large enough to provide one person with one bottle of wine a day for one hundred years!  And there were many of them...they are making a lot of wine!

After all of that we were guided through a tasting of the amazing Chateau des Charmes wines.  We started with a lovely riesling, followed by a delicious rosé, then on to a cab/merlot, and of course we finished the tasting with an amazing vidal icewine.

It was a great afternoon with some great information sharing, great people, and of course, great wine!
