What a great day at the Book Outlet. We were fortunate to have  2 stories for our Tales for Tots Event!

We began with a quick circle time and introduction. Our children love to sing our good morning song! We couldn't wait to read Robert Munch's Swamp Water.

Victoria's perfect birthday meal comes from a very unexpected place!
Victoria's grandmother is taking her out for a very special birthday lunch. And because it's a very special birthday lunch, Victoria's grandmother takes her to a very fancy restaurant. But because it's a very fancy restaurant, they don't make hamburgers OR chicken fingers and French fries OR tacos OR Swamp Water!

Swamp Water is a great book that will resonate with all of the picky eaters out there ... and also the grown-ups who try to feed them.

The winner of our draw for the Swamp Water Book this month was our friend Ruby!

Our second book that we read was The Goat Who Ate Everything.

This book tells the story of a goat who has a big appetite and struggles to eat right, but when he does, he feels great and becomes the playful ‘kid’ everyone loves. This entertaining story is great as it teaches the importance of nutrition.

Everyone sat very quietly and listened so well to our 2 fun stories today. After our stories were finished, we made a hungry goat craft to go along with our books.

Our hungry goats are eating happy meals and other foods and objects that we drew for them.

McDonald’s Canada is now offering books in their Happy Meals at participating restaurants for a two-week promotion that started on November 1, while supplies last. The promotion includes four limited edition books, offered in sequence, which feature Happy Meal original characters with fun and playful themes, and a focus on nutrition and imagination.

McDonalds generously provided swag bags pictured below for each of our children to bring home with them. In addition to the 3 promotional books and goodies that were inside, our tots received a free Happy Meal and there was even something included for our mommies.

In addition to the promotional books included in their happy meals, McDonalds is also introducing monthly e-books which are available on McPlay™, McDonald’s Happy Meal app.
